UNO is probably one of the most popular card games. The rules are simple; you need to be the first person to get rid of all your cards to be the winner. Oh! You are down to your last card. In the next round, you are surely going to win. What? Did you just forget to say “UNO”? We all have been through this, and we have also tried to club the +2 card with a +4 card. Did you know? It is against the rules to club the +2 and +4 cards.
UNO can be considered a game based partially on luck. One of the players draws a card. The rest need to throw a similar colored card or same numbered card. In case a player doesn’t possess such a card, they could throw a wild card or need to draw a couple of cards from the pile. In the end, the person who manages to discard all his/her cards is declared the winner. However, strategy plays an essential role in the gameplay as well. A player with a good set of cards is more likely to win, but if the others manage to play their cards right (nice pun!), the chances of an upset will increase drastically.
If you find all this a little too familiar and nostalgic, then there is a good reason for you to start playing Uno again. Recently, UNO has dethroned Fortnite as the most popular game on Twitch. Streamers have become addicted to the online version of UNO.
Owing to the massive popularity of the game, Twitch has decided to host a UNO tournament. This event will involve 16 streamers and esports players who would be competing for a price of $20,000.
The game will have two group stages from where the leaders would go into the finals. The group topper of each group will get a $2000 reward, and the value of the prize will decrease for the lower-ranked players. The winner of the tournament would receive a $4000 prize.
So, don’t forget to logon to Twitch to see how the tournament unfolds.
