It seems Square Enix is trying to help people who have to stay indoors due to the coronavirus outbreak. For a limited time, the 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider is available for free.
Due to the pandemic, millions of people all across the world have been told to stay indoors to remain safe. Square Enix has noticed this and decided to help the people spend their time at home enjoying one of Square Enix’s most popular games.
In a Tweet made by Square Enix they say,
” We’re warmed by stories of communities banding together during these uncertain times and are offering a gift to keep friends & family connected through play.”
At the moment, you can get the 2013 reboot of Tomb Raider and the co-op spin-off of the franchise, Tomb Raider and the Temple of Osiris free of cost on Steam and Square Enix store. The process to get the game on the Square Enix store are a bit tricky so, it would be a better option if you just visit Steam and claim your games over there.
Tomb Raider 2013 isn’t the only new game in the franchise as it received two sequels, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Both these games are available at massive discounts on the market. So, if you are a fan of the franchise, then it is a good opportunity to get the games while they are available at a discount.
I have completed the first two entries and they are awesome and in the few hours that I have spent on Shadow of the Tomb Raider, I found the game quite interesting with excellent visuals, a great storyline and some exciting puzzles. So, I would suggest that you should give the first game a try as soon as possible as the offer is valid until Monday 11:59 PM Pacific Time.
