Samsung Galaxy S9 users are receiving the July 2019 Android Security patch, critical bug fixes, and camera enhancements too. The firmware version for this update is G9600ZHU5CSFC, and only Brazilian users are receiving the update till date. Just launched in Brazil, the update will roll out for global users very soon. Brazilian users can check for Over The Air (OTA) update manually. They can upgrade by heading to Settings if they have not yet received any notification. Reports are out that Samsung Galaxy S9 Brazilian users are receiving the July 2019 Android Security patch. No screenshot of the changelog is shared yet by Samsung. But some notes say that the update will bring all of this month’s patches and fixes. They are a part of Android’s security bulletin including Samsung’s own patches as well.
Alongside, Android Security patch also brings camera stability improvements. Accordingly, this update may include the improved Camera Night Mode as well. Also, do expect the QR code scanner to work independently of Bixby Vision. Enabling the QR code scanner feature in Camera Settings is a sought after feature. Users can use this feature without having to install any third-party app. It helps the ease of use in scanning a QR code by simply pointing the camera at it.
Galaxy Series models like the Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S10 also received the updates. Galaxy A50 users also received this update last month.
In spite of installing the update, if you are unable to see the new Night Mode feature, then you can try to reset the camera app to enable the new function. To reset the camera app, open the Camera app > tap the gear icon to open camera Settings. Hit Reset Settings option positioned at the bottom of the screen. It is recommended to install the new July 2019 Android Security Update only with a good Wi-Fi connection and while the phone is on charging mode.
