On Realme Community forum, an official October 2019 OTA changelog was shared recently. Devices have started getting updated with the latest Android security patch: September 2019 but in a phased manner. In addition to the security fix, the OTA update brings with it Google’s Digital Wellbeing feature, enhancements in the default launcher, redesigned notification centre and a few known issues.
The update officially labelled version number RMX1901EX_11.A.08, weighs around 2.8GB. It will be rolled out as an over-the-air (OTA) package in a staged manner. In other words, there is a high probability that many of you might not receive the patch as you are reading this. It is only on a confirmed stable experience and no critical defects reported, the brand will go for mass rollout.
“In order to ensure the stability of this OTA, it will have a staged rollout. The OTA will be randomly pushed out to a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. If no critical bugs are found, the full roll out will be completed in the upcoming days,” the company said in its forum post.
In case you want to check whether you have been identified as an early adopter for Realme X October Update, then you should check it manually. In simple steps you can straight away head over to Settings >>Software & Update and search for the latest version number – RMX1901EX_11.A.08.
Google’s Digital Wellbeing is another feature that you can look forward to. It will assist users in restraining them from device obsession. The changelog suggests manual lock feature enhancement. It can be invoked after continued pressing of the power button. The option of customized notification on data consumed by the device and also by connected devices is also part of the changelog.
You will also find an optimized Smart Assistant interface as well as the improvised date and weather widget. There have been some user-friendly modifications in the design of the notification centre. With the redesign, message prompts can be dismissed by swiping left or right.
Two more fixes have been made available in the patch. One is the optimized partial scene power consumption. The other one is the fix for the issue of pop-up selfie camera module while making WhatsApp video calls.
