Going by the published OxygenOS maintenance schedule by OnePlus, each of its models are entitled to two years of Android updates and an extra year of security updates. The OnePlus 5 series was launched in 2017 and OnePlus has promised Android security updates until November 2020.
The OnePlus 5 series had last received OxygenOS 9.0.10 update in January 2020. It had pushed December 2019 Android security patch in the update along with the usual bug fixes. However, OnePlus 5 owners can anticipate Android 10 in the second quarter of 2020. It is highly unlikely that they will be eligible for the Android 11 update expected to release late in 2020.
Though the OxygenOS 9.0.11 update doesn’t bring anything spectacular, but it is heartening to find that OnePlus hasn’t forgotten its older versions.
