As we can see, a lot of Bollywood films are coming to streaming platforms due to COVID-19. Recently, we got Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmaan Khurrana’s Gulabo Sitabo on Prime Video. Disney+Hotstar has also announced that it will be releasing Sushant Singh Rajput’s Dil Bechara, along with Laxmmi Bomb, Bhuj: The Pride of India, and five other films over the next couple of months.
Recently, Ali Abbas, the co-producer of Khaali Peeli, talked about the plans to bring this Ishaan and Ananya starrer film to a streaming platform. He said that most of the filming process of Khaali Peeli is finished, and only a few scenes remain unfinished. He said that their primary focus is to finish the movie, and then look at the situation of the theatres before making a decision. He also discussed the upcoming superhero film featuring Katrina Kaif that will be coming to Netflix.
David Dhawan also talked about his Coolie No.1 reboot. He said that the film might come to a streaming platform if the situation doesn’t improve. Coolie No.1 was supposed to come out in May, but the lockdown made it impossible to release the film in theatres. As a result, David Dhawan started discussions with Amazon to release the Coolie No.1 on Prime Video. However, we haven’t received any confirmation if the deal has been finalized.
As most filmmakers are relying on streaming platforms to release their movies, it is only a matter of time before we hear that Khaali Peeli and Coolie No.1 are coming to streaming platforms.
