Jio Fiber (Jio GigaFiber) is all set to launch commercially nationwide on September 5. With Mukesh Ambani’s announcements about offers that come with JioFiber, people are quite excited about the broadband service. While details about all the plans are not known yet, a recent report suggests that JioFiber will be free for the first two months.
Jio Fiber Free For First Two Months
JioGiga Fiber Preview offer was launched a few months back in selected cities for testing purpose. The users had to pay ₹ 2,500 for installation and other procedures. Jio has recently announced that those users will not have to pay for Jio Fiber for at least two months after the commercial launch. Alternatively, the users can also take a refund of ₹ 2,500 they spent as a security deposit at that time.
Jio GigaFiber Plans And Freebies
Mukesh Ambani on August 10 announced initial details about the Fibre-To-The Home(FTTH) service. He announced that the Jio Fiber would launch on September 5 and the plans will range from ₹ 700 per month to ₹ 10,000 per month. The plan of ₹ 700/ month will provide a speed of 100 MB/s while the ₹ 10,000 plan will give a speed of 1GB/s.
He also announced that the users would get a free HD TV or 4K TV along with free landline, and a free 4K hybrid set-top box. The Jio Fiber users will also get unlimited international calls to the US and Canada for ₹ 500 a month.
Post the commercial roll-out customers will have to pay ₹ 1,500 as a refundable security deposit and ₹ 1,000 as installation fees. Initially, the JioFiber service will be available in selected in some selected cities only and will slowly be available in all cities. The selected cities are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Surat, Vadodara, Chennai, Noida, Ghaziabad, Bhubaneshwar, Varanasi, Allahabad, Bengaluru, Surat, Agra, Meerut, Vizag, Lucknow, Jamshedpur, Haridwar, Gaya, Patna, Port Blair, Punjab and some more states.
According to a report, Jio Fiber has already received more than 1.5 crore orders for Jio GigaFiber. The company is now targeting as many as 1.5 crore businesses and two crore residents across 1,600 towns in India.
