While Android 12 is still in the beta testing phase, there are many POCO smartphones that continue to wait for the Android 11 update. Poco of late has emerged as an independent entity, breaking away from its parent company Xiaomi. However, like all sub-brands, Poco continues with some of Xiaomi’s services.

To date, the Poco brand has piggybacked on Xiaomi’s custom skin MIUI, distribution channels, and after-sales support to name a few. Reports say that the company will eventually discontinue MIUI in favor of Poco UI. Speculations suggest the company will release it sometime later after the release of Android 12.

Xiaomi as a brand is known to release 2 major software updates to all the devices under its umbrella. It releases monthly and quarterly security patch updates that can cover Android security patches released by Google, as well as fixes for Xiaomi-specific bugs.

However, from POCO we can expect a deviation in software update policy when they come up with their POCO UI skin. Keeping in mind that it was Poco F1, the company’s first offering that catapulted the sub-brand into an independent flagship. It was the first one that blurred the lines between midrange and high-range phones.

It is a wishlist on every POCO device user to receive at least 3 major software updates once POCO UI replaces MIUI. Combined with timely security updates, POCO will remain unbeaten in its segment. But, that is wishful thinking.

Let us now find out which eligible devices are ready for MIUI 12 update, almost at the fag end of the Android 11 update cycle. Many Poco users are eager to get their hands on the MIUI 12 based Android 11 update.

In case you are wondering if your Poco device will get the update or not, we have scoured the internet, so you don’t have to.

Earlier in January during AMA with Anuj, that POCO X2 device was already in the process of testing the MIUI 12 update. It was to be followed by Poco M2 Pro and Poco M2 respectively spanned over a couple of months. Users were expecting to get an Android 11 update by February. Having said that, the Poco M2 Android 11 update date in India is still not yet known.

The Poco M2 Pro was released alongside the Poco M2, but instead of a MediaTek chipset, it features the Snapdragon 720G. Like the non-Pro variant, the release date for Android 11 in India remains unknown. Moreover, there is no mention of the update for the Global and the European edition.

In the meantime, the brand has confirmed that Poco M2 (India version) and Poco M2 Pro will be receiving MIUI 12.5 sometime in the future. But there is no update on the date.

The Poco M3 is the latest device in the budget segment M series. Like other Poco devices, it is eligible to receive the Android 11 update this year, its first major OS. The latest update will be available to the Indian variant as well as the global and European versions.

POCO M3 Android 11 stable update has yet no begun rolling out. The company had released a May security patch to address system security and stability in Turkey with build number – MIUI 12.0.7.0 QJFTRXM. It can be downloaded from here: Recovery | OTA (Apply from v12.0.6.0)

Poco C3 Android 11 Update Release Date

The Poco C3 is the latest and budget segment smartphone from the company. It was released in October last year. The entry-level smartphone is also getting the Android 11 treatment. It had received the April security patch update last. But the company hasn’t revealed anything when the stable MIUI 12 update will be rolled out.

POCO C3 India model is eligible to received MIUI 12.5 as well as Android 11. It is now expected that it might receive both updates simultaneously.

POCO needs to pull up its socks when it comes to seeding timely major OS updates and security patches. Users have been disturbed at the apathy shown by the brand with many issues yet unattended. This includes charging problems, software lags, dropped Widevine L1 certification, and many more.

The information posted here will be updated as and when Poco releases the Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 updates for any of the phones above. Make sure to regularly check with us for further updates.
