After its initial manga release in 2017, the series has also received a live-action adaptation which is currently in the works.

Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Christmas Conflict Arc Trailer

On December 18th, 2021, the TV anime “Tokyo Revengers” YouTube channel teased out a promotion video for Tokyo Revengers Season 2. In the 40 second video, one can see the cast of Tokyo Revengers Season 1. The death of Chifuyu has again set the mercury soaring.

When will Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Release ?

Earlier this month there were several sources that revealed about Season 2 of the anime in production. The same got confirmed in Jump Festa. According to BD/DVD distributor Pony Canyon, it is officially titled in English – Tokyo Revengers: Christmas Showdown and Tokyo Revengers: Seiya Kessen in Japanese.

But when will it release?

Before Tokyo Revengers Season 2 Christmas Conflict Arc releases, the wording of the press release may be worth looking at. The confirmed news is that of the adaptation of the Christmas Showdown mini-arc that sets up the Black Dragon Arc when Takemichi goes back to the past again. This means it’s entirely possible that the Christmas Showdown Arc will only act as a prelude to Tokyo Revengers Season 2.

More details should be available in the upcoming months. As for the possible release window for the anime, the best possible time would perhaps be Summer 2022 to Fall 2022 which leaves enough time for cast and trailer reveals along with the key visuals as well.

What is Tokyo Revengers About?

Tokyo Revengers experiments with Sci-fi and high school delinquency. Tokyo Revengers revolves around Takemichi Hanagaki, a 26-year-old delinquent who looks like a kid. A lot of people in the anime do but that is because of a twist. Takemichi has a little gang that he can rely on.

One day he discovers that his only girlfriend ever had been killed along with her sibling. Takemichi too dies moments after learning this but is somehow warped back in time to relive his high school days. He tried to inform people and prevent Hinata’s death. Takemichi, now able to travel through time, uses his ability to change the course of the future.

The first season of the anime aired with 22 episodes and ended the Bloody Halloween Battle. With very positive reviews and announcements of further projects, stage play adaptations are in gear along with the upcoming season of the anime!

Tokyo Revengers Christmas Showdown launches the Black Dragon Arc

The Bloody Halloween ended with the death of Baji and also revealed the depths of Kisaki’s sinister plans. Kisaki’s nightmare is far from over and Takemichi struggles to save the future of Tokyo Manji. With Valhalla no longer posing an immediate threat, Toman still cannot rest easy. The last few episodes of the anime’s Tokyo Revengers Season 1 set up the arrival of the Black Dragon Gang that will become the next big arc for Tokyo Revengers to cover.

The Valhalla Arc ended around chapter 78 of the manga. The Black Dragon Arc will begin Tokyo Revengers Season 2 and adapt the manga from roughly Chapter 80. The Christmas Showdown will be set up Takemichi being attacked by a member of the Shibu family who will later join the Black Dragon Gang. The brawl will have the captains and vice-captains of both the gangs and perhaps set up the downfall of Tokyo Manji.

The official synopsis reads:

“Watching the news, Takemichi Hanagaki learns that his girlfriend from way back in middle school, Hinata Tachibana, has died. The only girlfriend he ever had was just killed by a villainous group known as the Tokyo Manji Gang. He lives in a crappy apartment with thin walls, and his six-years-younger boss treats him like an idiot. Plus, he’s a complete and total virgin … At the height of his rock-bottom life, he suddenly time-leaps twelve years back to his middle school days! To save Hinata, and change the life he spent running away, hopeless part-timer Takemichi must aim for the top of Kanto’s most sinister delinquent gang!”
