After the merger of PS Now with PS Plus and the launch of PS Plus Launch in June, free games have been cut down to 2 from the usual 3. There will also be a free title from the Extra and Premium library meant for Essential members. With August coming to an end in another 10 days, players have started looking for PS Plus free games September leaks.

So far 2022 has been typically good for players with PS Plus free games August best so far. They include the impressive titles of Yakuza Like a Dragon, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2, topped up by the stunning Little Nightmares. Sony treated with more of Yakuza coupled with Metro Exodus, Dead By Daylight, Ghost Recon as PS Plus Extra games for August 2022. Don’t miss out on the freebies. Make sure you download them now while they’re available for free to play.

It’s difficult to believe that the PS Plus Free Games lineup for September will continue the trend from August free games. However, players are assured that Sony will not ditch their expectations and will announce at least one PS5 title or a PS4 game that everyone is waiting for ages.

Players are waiting for an official announcement on PlayStation monthly free games arriving in September 2022. Here’s what we know so far about giving farewell to PS Plus free games August 2022 and welcoming PlayStation Plus free games September 2022. As of now, no reliable leaks have come up. However, there are few PS Plus free games September 2022 predictions. Let’s have a look at them!

What are the PS Plus Free Games September 2022 predictions?

Sony has been offering freebies mostly games from across genres for the past few months. September will not be different with one PS4 game, one PS5 game and one from the Extra and Premium library meant for Essential members. Here are the wild card entries gathered from the industry for September PS Plus free games

  • Aeterna Noctis â€“ PS4
  • Circus Electrique â€“ PS5, PS4
  • The Crew 2 â€“ PS4
  • Tomorrow Children Phoenix Edition
  • The Last of Us Part I – PS5
  • Saints Row 4: Re-Elected
  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

The Last of Us Part I

With Naughty Dog releasing its master upgrade, The Last of Us Part II, on PlayStation 5 on 2nd September, it makes sense for Sony to offer its players The Last of Us Part I for free.

Saints Row 4: Re-Elected

On similar grounds, it can be hoped that Sony might offer the older Saints Row 4: Re-Elected in its PS Plus Free Games September lineup. A reboot version of Saints Row 4: Re-Elected is getting set for launch by end of August

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Chances of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice being part of September sounds remote but since the title is doing rounds in rumors, hence found a mention here.

Tomorrow Children Phoenix Edition

Tomorrow Children Phoenix Edition is a strong contender for PS Plus Free Games September. The title is getting released on 6th September which matches with the date of monthly PS Plus freebies. But is not available to pre-order from the PSN store.

Aeterna Noctis

If you are looking for a heady combo of fighting, platforming, and role-playing, then Aeterna Noctis is the right one for you.

Circus Electrique

Zen Studios’ unique title Circus Electrique is launching on 6th September and appears to be a likely candidate for the free games lineup for September. The tactical RPG game has a setting in London where the residents turn into brutal assassins. It’s strategic real-time gameplay where one has to work together to save London.

The Crew 2

The Crew 2 is likely to be announced for Essential members as Extra and Premium titles for September month. Its original version by Ubisoft had competed well against Gran Turismo and Forza.

Games leaving PS Plus in September 2022

In August we have two games – WRC 10 and NBA 2K22 leaving on Wednesday, August 31 at 7:30 PM.

It’s worth noting that Red Dead Redemption 2 for Extra and Premium is all set to leave the PS Plus Collection on Tuesday, September 20 at 7:30 PM.

There are 2 more titles that are leaving PS in October. They are Red Dead Redemption 1 and Undead Nightmare leaving on Monday, October 17 at 7:30 PM.

Ensure that you add the game to your collections that you continue to enjoy till you have an active PlayStation Plus subscription.

When will PS Plus September 2022 free games for PS4 and PS5 be officially announced?

PlayStation Now announces the list of free games released every month on its PlayStation Blog. The reveal usually happens on the last Wednesday of a month. Sony has been consistent with the time of announcement also. It is last Wednesday of month at 8:30 AM PST / 11:30 AM EST / 4:30 PM BST / 5:30 PM CEST.

On the basis of this, PlayStation Now should make an announcement on Wednesday, August 31 at 8:30 AM PST / 11:30 AM EST / 4:30 PM BST.

The next question is when the announced games are available to play. You can add these PS Plus 2022 games every first Tuesday of the next month. Hence expect PS Plus Free Games September 2022 to be available from Tuesday, 6th September 2022.
