Hours before the final episode of Dr. Stone Season 2 was to premiere, anime fans were given a chance to rejoice. On 25th March, an official announcement was made. The announcement has not come as surprise for many fans. For the simple reason, the anime is riding high on the popularity index. The rating of Dr. Stone Season 2 on IMDb is 8.2/10 whereas an impressive 8.33/10 on MyAnimeList and an amazing 4.7/5 on Crunchyroll.
Another reason to get a renewal is the availability of pending content from the manga. The last episode of Dr. Stone Season 2 is adapted from Chapter 84 (Volume 10). To date, 169 Chapters of Dr. Stone have been written and distributed. Volume 20 is scheduled for 2nd April to publish. The makers have sufficient source material to cover the entire manga in a couple of Seasons.
When is Dr. Stone Season 3 Release Date?
The makers have announced the renewal for another season, however, they have not revealed the premiere date. Dr. Stone Season 3 release date is purely speculation on the basis of past history and COVID prevailing conditions.
Dr. Stone Season 1 premiered in July 2019, almost 8 months after the announcement was made. Dr. Stone Season 2 release schedule kicked off from January 2021, after 7 months of renewal announcement was made.
Looking at the past history, taking into the life cycle from the announcement till the Season 3 debut, it will be safe to say that it should land in Winter Anime 2022 calendar. A possibility of October-2021 on the Anime Fall calendar cannot be ruled out if the pandemic continues.
