Will there be Attack on Titan Season 5?

Attack on Titan Season 1 was aired first time on April 7, 2013, adapted from the manga by Hajime Isayama. The original Japanese title for AOT is Shingeki No Kyojin. Attack on Titan Season 1 had 25 episodes in total with no break whereas AOT Season 2 was 12 episodes. Attack on Titan Season 3 was split into 2 parts. Part 1 had 12 episodes whereas Part 2 was aired in 2019 with 10 episodes.

AOT Season 4 is commissioned for 16 episodes with no breaks and will end in April 2021. In other words, the pending manga story will not be covered in 16 episodes. MAPPA, the production house has neither rushed the storyline nor deviated from the original manga. Fans are thankful that the AOT final season has not met the fate of The Promised Neverland Season 2.

The unfinished episodes need one more season to do justice to the shonen action genre anime. Unfortunately, the production house MAPPA has repeatedly confirmed that there will no Attack on Titan Season 5. However, the popularity and demand should push the makers to rethink their decision.

There are couple of viable alternatives to stick to the original manga. One is to end Attack on Titan with an animated movie. The other is to either come up with Part 2 of AOT Season 4 or bring up Season 5 once the current season winds up. It obviously appears to be more popular choice.

In the meantime, a remake of Japanese Attack on Titan live-action version rights has been secured by Warner Bros. It will be directed by Andy Muschietti.
