Today, Xiaomi has released a new smart band in India. The Redmi Smart Band is the first smart wearable released by Xiaomi under its Redmi flagship.
The Redmi Smart Band
The affordable smart band was launched in China in April 2020, and we were expecting it to come to India soon. Today, on 8th September, Xiaomi launched the said smart band in India for ₹1599 only. The band would go on sale at 1 PM on 9th September, Wednesday. You can get the Redmi band on the official Mi store as well as through partner stores such as Amazon.
The smart band would be available in four colors, Black, Blue, Green, and Orange. According to Xiaomi, the Redmi band will come with sensors to report heart rate, sleep activity, and daily activities. You will also get an option to select a watch face for the device.
Specifications and Features
The first thing that you would notice on the Redmi Band is the display. It is the biggest smart band display released by Xiaomi to date. The display on the Redmi band is 1.08-inch (128 x 220 pixels), whereas the Mi Band 4 features a 0.95-inch display. However, the Redmi band display is an LCD panel as opposed to the OLED panel on the Mi Band 4.
It features a 130 mAh battery and can last up to two weeks on a single charge (the Mi Band 4 goes up to 20 days).
Another exciting feature of the Redmi smart band is the 24-hour optical heartrate sensor. It checks your heartbeat throughout the day to give you an in-depth understanding of your everyday activities.
The Redmi band is quite similar to the Mi Band 4 and offers water resistance up to 5 ATM. As a result, the band can survive at depths up to 50 meters for up to 10 minutes. So, you don’t need to worry about damaging your smart band while going for a swim.
Features of Redmi Smart Band
The heart rate sensor on the smart band is complimented with five professional sports modes. You can use this sports mode feature to get the perfect report for your daily activities.
In addition to these features, you get a calorie and step counter as well as an idle alert. These features work in tandem to help you keep fit by telling you how your workout is going and asking you to exercise if you are idle for an extended period.
It comes with a raise to wake feature that shows you important notifications as soon as you raise your hand. You don’t need to press any button to check the latest notification.
You would notice that the Redmi band features a micro USB port, which means you don’t need a separate charger for the smart band.
The smart band comes with 50 preloaded watches faces to choose from, and it works great with Android as well as iOS devices.
A short and quick review of the Redmi Smart Band for ₹1599 – It’s worth the price band you can go for, especially if you are running on a tight budget.
