Holiday 2020 approaching fast and so is the D-Day of the debut of the next-gen PS5. How Will Free Upgrade Of PS4 Titles To PS5 Work?
A list of PS4 Games being upgraded for free on PS5 will work based on certain conditions set by the publisher. It will be driven majorly by the version of the game and whether it is a physical or digital copy. For physical copy owners, they will need to keep their PS4 versions of titles in hand.
The most important thing to be kept in mind is that if you own physical copies of titles, you need to have a PS5 disc drive to transfer physical games. It can only be possible on PS5 and not on its PS5 Digital Edition. No physical media can be played on the PS5 Digital Edition because it is not equipped with a disc drive. This applies to PS5 games, DVDs, and 4K UHD Blu-ray movies. Here, a bit of planning is needed before purchase of PS 5.
Though Sony has committed a backward compatibility feature in PS5, however, PS5 titles will not be playable on PS4. At this point, all the console players will be on watch to see their favorite titles on the list of S4 games supported by PS5.
