The hype around Prime Video’s Indian original show is peaking up. Yesterday the makers of Mirzapur series had confirmed the second part will be dropping next month. The makers had reserved September Mirzapur 2’s premiere. Though they have not confirmed the premiere date of Mirzapur Season 2. From their end, the post-production work has been wrapped up and the final copy has been submitted to Prime Video to stream.
Citing a report from peepingmoon.com, Prime Video will soon be making the date of the premiere official. It has not taken anyone by surprise when Prime Video released a teaser on its twitter handle with caption: “#ms2w but just this one last time”

The clue in the message is loud and clear. Mirzapur Season 2: Pankaj Tripathi And Divyendu Sharma’s crime-based thriller is all set to release in September. It will be dropping after one year and ten months after Mirzapur Season 1 premiere in 2018. MSW2 was targeted to release in April 2020 by the makers. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, all the activities were halted and dates got pushed.
“We were always the underdogs and there was always immense love from the audience. But now the show is considerably delayed…Through the lockdown, fans have been after us. We can feel the eyes on us, and I hope the audience is a little generous,” while talking about the project said Ali Fazal.
Rumor mills in the streaming industry suggest that Mirzapur 2 trailer should be out in September 2nd week and the full Season will available from September 4th week.
It is one of the many in-demand shows of Prime Video. The fans have even gone to the extent of dropping requests for MSW 2 dates on other streaming platforms like Netflix. In return, they have been generous enough to escalate the matter to Prime Video. After the release of the trailer of Season 2 last year, every news and leaks have been followed diligently by the fans.
The makers have not dropped a hint on Mirzapur 2 cast. But it will have Vikrant Massey and Ali Fazal. It will continue from where it left off in Season 1. You will see stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyendu Sharma, Shweta Tripathi, and Harshita Gaur in their pivotal roles. The plot of Mirzapur 2 will take off from Season 1 left. It promises to be a gorier, gripping tale of violence with drama around the revenge of Vikrant Massey’s death.
With the immense success of 9 episodes, Mirzapur Season 1, Prime Video has started targeting one Indian show per month. Encouraged by the recent lockdown viewership results, it has built a healthy pipeline of half a dozen more projects scheduled for 2020. This includes Bandish Bandits in August and Mirzapur Season 2 premiering in September, Dilli, Gormint, The Family Man Season 2, Inside Edge Season 3, The Last Hour, and Mumbai Diaries 26/11 in the coming months!
