Going by Apple’s tradition, the annual iPhone series is announced in the second week ending in September. However, 2020 has been different for everyone. Many traditions have been forsaken and new ones established. The Apple event was held yesterday evening. However hoping against hope, iPhone 12 series was not announced.
There were 4 new Apple products announced yesterday evening in the Apple launch ecvent. It included the new Apple Watch Series 6, an affordable Apple Watch SE, iPad Air 4, and the iPad 8th gen along with the Apple One subscription bundle.
The Apple event did not give any leads about the upcoming 2020 5G iPhone 12 series. Apple stuck to its rulebook of making an annoucment only a few days before the event happens. There have been rumors earlier from strong sources including Jon Posser about Apple possibly opting for the October timeline launch.
Earlier one of the key parts’ suppliers of Apple had confirmed that there has been a delay in chip shipment for the 2020 iPhone. The suggested exclusive iPhone 12 series launch event is expected to happen in the second week of October and shipping somewhat later in November.
However there was another surprise revelation. We got a new speculative date after the event. It came none other than from Jenna Ezarik on Twitter. Jenna shared a small video clip from last night’s iPad demo. She hoped against hope that it might be “a sign for when the iPhone announcement will be”
From the video clip shared, one can see the Apple Pencil etching away a sentence – “Due to Sept 30th”. The user can be seen highlighting the text and later on converting it into an event.
This has led several tongues wagging away, assuming Apple has hinted at the possibility of September 30 to be iPhone 12 release date. Some are of the opinion that Apple doesn’t plan launch events on Wednesdays and September 30 falls on Wednesday. However, 2020 is different from the rest of years, a year full of surprises. Apple might lead us to believe it.
