Premiered first in December 2013, the 9.2 rated animated fiction sitcom, Rick and Morty, was renewed for 70 more episodes by Adult Swim in 2018. Following that, the popular sitcom Rick and Morty 4th and 5th seasons were aired, leaving fans with 50 more episodes(possibly five more seasons!). What’s next in store? It’s Rick and Morty Season 6!

Since Rick and Morty Season 1 aired, it has become a part of our life. It’s impossible to imagine life without these two protagonists dragging us to their crazy adventure of science. Luckily for us fans, life without Rick and Morty is still far away as the show might run through Rick and Morty Season 10.

The writer of the masterpiece, Alex Ruben, teased the fans about starting the writing part for season 7 earlier this year. To quote his exact words on Twitter-“Am I allowed to say we started writing Rick and Morty Season 7 ? (If not, we didn’t and, I’m not).” This statement was later confirmed by writer Cody Ziglar, who announced that the writing of Rick and Morty Season 7 is finished.

So, what’s that mean to fans? It means that the premiere of Rick and Morty season 6 is at the edge.

Rick and Morty Season 6 Trailer

As of today, we don’t have an official Rick and Morty Season 6 trailer. However, with only confirmation of another season in the works, we cannot expect a teaser coming out soon. Seeing the trailers of previous seasons released by Adult Swim, we can expect the Universe to release Rick and Morty Season 6 trailer about 2-3 months before the actual premiere of the season.

In the meantime, you can watch an 11-minute animated short “The Great Yokai Battle of Akihabara” released on Sunday by Adult Swim. Toonami will also air it on October 16. It has been directed by Masaru Matsumoto, animation produced by Sola Digital Arts Inc. CGI produced by Yamato Works, Inc.

Rick is voiced by Youhei Tadano and Keisuke Chiba as Morty. The pair have picked their roles from the Japanese dub. One can also see the dub artistes Akiha Matsui as Summer, Yoshito Yasuhara as Qsaku, Miho Sakurazaka as Milk, Shunsuke Nakata as Toaster A.I., Yūsuke Kondō as Shopkeeper, and MoeMi as Maid.

Rick and Morty Season 6 release date

Well, isn’t it the main sub-part that you came looking for? So, without any more delay, let us jump straight to our topic!

The makers have yet not announced or even hinted at a possible Rick and Morty Season 6 release date. However, that does not stop us from speculating.

From November to December 2019, Rick and Morty Season 4 Part 1 aired, followed by Part 2 in May 2020. Then came the Rick and Morty Season 5 in the summer of 2021. On the ground of gap followed between two seasons, we can expect Rick and Morty Season 6 to drop by in Summer 2022.

Yes, you heard it right! A fresh new season with our old smart buddies is right at the corner! What else?

But fans would be praying for Adult Swim to spring a surprise on them by releasing the season even earlier. That means more Rick and Morty every year! Excited?

Rick and Morty Season 6 Spoilers

Since even the trailer has not been released for this season, it is hard to predict the plot with certainty. We, as fans, though, expect more episodes like ‘Mortyplicity’ and no episodes like ‘Rickdependence Spray.’

Season 6 spoilers ahead!

The end of Season 5 brought back Evil Morty and gave us a clear peek at Rick’s backstory. Although some flashbacks in Season 3 did reveal the fact that Rick’s wife and daughters were killed by none other than by another Rick himself, season 5 confirmed this dark backstory. With Season 6, we can expect a deeper revelation into this.

The essence of the show is its plot mixed with humor and crazy hijinks. As fans, we would expect further growth of the show, balancing both humor and absurdity, as they move forward with the development of these characters.

While we are at it, let’s hope that the two most fascinating characters of the show, Jessica and Space Beth, also make a sound appearance in Season 6. These two were mostly kept in the sideline the entire Season 5. What else? Maybe we can expect the return of Evil Morty in the next season as the Citadel, as of Season 5, is destroyed!

That is all we have for now. We promise to get back with more as soon as we get any new inside news. With the hope that Rick and Morty Season 6 will address all our curiosities and satisfy everything we are expecting, we will conclude our piece here.
