When we talk about 2020, our mind instantly thinks of two things-Covid outbreak and the blockbuster Web Series, Paatal Lok. Directed by Avinash Arun and Prosit Roy, the Anushka Sharma-produced crime thriller is based on the critically acclaimed novel-The Story of My Assassins. Naturally, right after the premiere of the first season of Paatal Lok, chaos regarding the release of Paatal Lok Season 2 began. 

For those who aren’t familiar with the show, Paatal Lok highlights the story of a cynical cop, Hathiram Chowdhury, who gets involved with the dark underworld-Paatal Lok, after he is assigned a high-profile case. 

The show depicts the ironic parallelity in the social structure of today’s world with the three realms of Hindu mythology, heaven, earth, and hell. ‘Swarga’ or heaven is the homeland of the rich, politically powerful people, earth’s for the middle class, and finally, ‘Paatal’ or hell is the dwelling of victims. 

Highlighting the truth of the ugly and faulty society, the main mystery remains concealed until the end. 

The powerful story, screenplay, and compelling acting got the show’s name on The Indian Express’ list of Top 10 Web Series of 2020. It also got nominated for eight categories in Filmfare OTT Awards and won five of them. It secured an 8/10 rating on IMDb and 83 percent on Rottentomatoes.

Paatal Lok Season 2 Release Date on Amazon Prime

Paatal Lok Season 1 premiered on Amazon Prime Video on 15th May 2020. The 9 episodes of the investigative crime thriller left fans craving more after its terrific conclusion at the end of season 1. The big question is, when will Paatal Lok season 2 be released? 

Well, we have one good news and one bad news for you. Let’s start with the good news first. Makers of Paatal Lok, with some tease of what’s coming next, have confirmed that there will be a Paatal Lok 2. 

The bad news is that, till today, there’s no official announcement regarding the exact release date of the web series. However, on 28th April, Amazon Prime confirmed its pipeline of web series. Along with other series like Panchayat Season 2 and Made in Heaven, Paatal Lok Season 2 was also confirmed.

It is speculated that Paatal Lok Season 2 on Amazon Prime might come around the May-July time frame of 2023. We have to wait for Paatal Lok Season 2 kab aayega from the official channel. Till then keep a watch on this space!

Of course, not. In fact, the Paatal Lok season 2 premiere most likely be in May – July 2023.
