Rumors of the launch of a budget phone have once again gained momentum with the spotting of a mysterious OnePlus device on Geekbench benchmark listing. The model number ‘BE2028′ with Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, 6GB RAM running on Android 10 OS has given rise to speculations that OnePlus Nord Lite 5G is on its way.
The Geekbench listing shows a score of 609 for the single-core and 1,728 for multi-core tests. The scores had been uploaded on July 11. The processor information of the mysterious OnePlus (aka Nord Lite 5G) shows it to be packed with an octa-core Qualcomm SoC clocking 1.71GHz and 6GB of RAM. The mysterious model BE2028 of OnePlus phone is running Android 10.
As can be seen in the screengrab, the motherboard of rumored OnePlus Nord Lite has been codenamed ‘lito’. The code ‘lito’ resonates with Oppo Reno 4, Samsung Galaxy A51s which featured Snapdragon 765G CPU. It can be assumed that the new OnePlus device will also have an SD 765G chipset.
The 6GB of RAM gives a signal that it will not be a top-end model. It clearly falls in line with the strategy of the brand shared by OnePlus co-founder, Pete Lau a few days ago. In an interview, he had dropped hints that OnePlus is looking towards bringing up devices in the budget segment and this could very well be the OnePlus Nord Lite 5G.
“We can look at it as having a more affordable product offering, but all products that still remain up to the OnePlus standard… and through this enabling more people to have access to OnePlus products,” said Lau in an interview with Fast Company
With this mysterious model number popping up, many questions have started surfacing. Will the new model be the cheaper version of OnePlus Nord? Will OnePlus surprise us by launching OnePlus Nord Lite 5G phone along with OnePlus Nord on 21 July? Will it be called OnePlus Nord Lite? Only time gonna tell.
But one thing is certain that OnePlus phones will become affordable now. Share with us your views on whether you are excited for to own OnePlus!
