Xiaomi is currently working on a new skin MIUI 13 on top of Android 11. It is obvious that it would like to complete the stable rollout of the MIUI 12 update to eligible devices before October ends. There are few models, part of the list, that have been left out from receiving MIUI 12 updates. The brand has not informed either of its plans.
To name a few they are the popular models of the Redmi series – Redmi Note 8/8T, Redmi Note 7/7S/7Pro, Redmi 9/9Pro Max, Redmi 8, Redmi 7, Redmi 6, and Poco M2. There is some development on these devices getting MIUI 12 update in near future. However it is unofficial, but it is music to the ears. Communication about these devices getting an update in near future has been spotted in an MIUI 12 community forum on Telegram.
If we believe the chat shared, then the alleged MIUI 12 update timeline is as below. Mark the dates
A few days ago, Redmi Note 7 MIUI 12 beta update had to be halted due to a critical bug. It prevented booting after the upgrade. The China model of Redmi Note 7 had received the stable version of MIUI 12 and the beta version had been rolled out to select devices in July. However, with the current timeline of a stable version coming by October 10, the hopes have once again risen.
The global rollout of Redmi Note 8 before October 10 appears to be a practically feasible date. Reason being that the Redmi Note 8 China version(devoid of Google apps and services) has already received the update. Manually the ROM can be installed from the Link.
A couple of days ago Xiaomi had released updates for POCO M2 Pro & Redmi Note 9 Pro Max in batches in India. POCO M2 Pro comes with build number V12.0.1.0.QJPINXM. On the other hand, the one for Redmi Note 9 Pro Max bears the build number V12.0.1.0.QJXINXM weighs around 723MB in size and brings the September Android security patch.
