Xperia 1 V and 5 V March update rolled out! Promises improved camera performance and a few more
  1. Improve the performance of game enhancer.
  2. Further performance improvement of Alipay fingerprint payment. (China)
  3. Improve camera performance.
  4. Improved issues related to screen refresh rate.

One of the key fixes is the improvement in Game Enhancer performance, which aims to provide a smoother and more enjoyable gaming experience. Additionally, the March update along with the security update enhances the performance of Alipay fingerprint payment. The latest software version ensures a more reliable and secure transaction process for users who use this feature.

Another notable improvement is in camera performance, although specific details about these enhancements are not provided. Users can expect improvements in picture quality, focusing speed, and overall camera usability, enhancing the overall photography experience on Xperia devices.

Users who have downloaded the March update have also reported fixed issues of green tint/black crush/jump at 80% brightness issue and the low fps while scrolling animated content.

The update also addresses bugs related to the screen refresh rate, a common issue among Xperia 1 V and Xperia 5 V users introduced after Android 14 Problems such as random drops in refresh rate, even under normal usage conditions, have been reported and are expected to be resolved with this update, ensuring a more consistent display performance.

However, some users have earlier reported issues with the Game Enhancer app not starting or crashing post-Android 14 update. It remains unclear whether these issues are related to the update or if they need to be handled as separate issues.

Overall, the inclusion of the March security patch and these functional improvements make the March update significant for Xperia 1 V and Xperia 5 V users. Such updates are relatively rare from Sony and underscore the importance of enhancing the user experience.

As the update is rolled out to more regions, users have started giving their feedback after updating their devices. Many of the listed enhancements/bugs have been fixed but there are some issues that users were disappointed to find that they continued to exist. For instance, Zoom camera is broken since Android 14 update, no 48mm cam in Photo Pro, no 2.0x zoom with Bokeh effect to name a few.
