Sony is rumored to be launching a new headset, the LinkBuds successor (YY2964), as part of its audio product lineup. The new set of Sony earbuds, LinkBuds successor, has been leaked by a Twitter tipster happening through the Korean RRA certification process. The upcoming model, known as YY2964, appears to have been developed alongside the WF-1000XM5 earbuds (YY2963). This suggests that they may share similar design elements or features. The certification, dated from mid-February, indicates that the new earbuds will be manufactured in Vietnam.
Though the picture shared is not very clear, however when in comparison to the previous LinkBuds model (YY2953), the new model features a redesigned look, including a change from three recharging pins to two. Additionally, there seems to be a proximity sensor near the Sony logo, resembling the setup on the LinkBuds.
The design of the driver holes and fitting supporters has also been revamped, with a single circle of identical hole sizes replacing the previous dual sets of holes. The leaked images showcase the earbuds in black, hinting at the possibility of multiple color options, such as black and white.

Furthermore, the system-on-chip (SoC) in the current model, the Mediatek MT2822MA, is rumored to be replaced with the Mediatek MT2833, which is also used in the WF-1000XM5 earbuds. It is speculated that Sony will utilize a System in Package (SiP) to streamline internal packaging for the new Linkbuds YY2964 model.
