Few iPhone 12 buyers are in a fix when they found that their Apple iPhone 12 cases are faulty. But wait, is it a new feature or a genuine environmental concern by Apple? As of now, it appears to be a manufacturing defect. It seems unheard of for Apple QC, many are getting reamed over that missing speaker holes on a $49 case. Seeming to be a major oversight from the brand, iPhone 12 cases for a few customers have come without speaker holes.

One can find a few threads making noise on Reddit from iPhone 12 customers reporting speaker holegate by Apple.

Have a look at the video shared by one of the customers showing the iPhone 12 case with no hole and more defects!

When Apple customer support was contacted, they also could not be of help either. In fact, they said it was not needed, hence removed. It appears Apple is hinting at its readiness for a futuristic DIY kit, maybe an Apple iDrill to start with. Or it wants you to drill by yourself to save manufacturing energy consumption. Or even reach out to the Apple store and get it done at an affordable price.

The sentiments shared by the users are almost on similar lines. They are anguished over Apple’s decision to take off the headphone jack. Now they find that the new devices do not have speaker holes. They feel the next update will automatically have everything muted. Apple will ask you to dig down in Settings just to turn in the speakers.

Many have started bidding on Reddit post for defective iPhone 12 cases. Few even suggested that they can be treated as Future ‘ collector’s item’ like a misprinted vinyl record.

The defect is minuscule, but no one will be happy to pay $49 for the embarrassing slip from the manufacturer producing these for Apple.

The incidents of missing holes in the Apple iPhone 12 cases are few as of now. Considering the fact that limited sets would have been sold, Apple needs to recall the faulty sets and provide a replacement.
