Ashram 3 Release Date

Since Season 1 and 2 have a difference of 2-3 months in between their release, it was assumed that the show will drop in early 2021. In other words, it was safely assumed that Season 3 would arrive by the end of January 2021. But with the new COVID strain and lockdown being reported, the shooting schedule has to be revisited. The Ashram news said that production was in full swing.

Taking into account the prevailing COVID situation and controversies, makers have decided to start shooting from September in Bhopal. The same has been confirmed by Darshan Kumar, the key character of the web series. Earlier, April 6 was the date when Aashram 3 was to go on floors and with speculations of Chapter 3 premiering in the last quarter of 2021.

If the shooting starts in September followed by post-production and dubbing, it will be safe to assume the Ashram 3 Release Date to fall in the first quarter of 2022. These are mere speculations. We will update this space as soon as we get confirmed news.

Check out what Prakash Jha, the director said in April.

We will schedule our shoot when things improve. On one hand, things seem to be getting better, then we hear of a new viral strain doing the rounds.”

Prakash Jha in his interview with Mid-Day

Ashram Season 1 and Chapter 2 were shot in Ajodhya due to which it became easy for the cast to release in a short span of interval. However, the shooting location of Aashram season 3 is being worked out.

Ashram 3 Trailer

Prakash Jha in his series Ashram captures the satirical opinion that surrounds self-proclaimed Godmen with thoughts crossing – “Ashram based on which baba”. Although the story does use fictional attributes, the majority of the story is based on the activities of self-proclaimed Godman, Gurmeet Ram Rahim. However, it remains one of the best-acclaimed series with regard to the subject.

The producers have not released the Ashram 3 trailer. Will be releasing probably a few weeks before the release. But keep on watching this space for official updates as and when they come.

Ashram 3 Cast

The original star cast of Season 1 and Chapter 2 will be retained. However, Jha has confirmed that there will be surprise comebacks from earlier Seasons.

“We gave the sub-plots and the various characters their due importance, which is why we could make it so engaging. Even then, I did not imagine that Aashram would receive the kind of acclaim that it did. Several key characters will also make a comeback in the new season,” he said.

  • Bobby Deol as Kashipur Waale Baba Nirala / Monty
  • Chandan Roy Sanyal as Bhopa Bhai / Bhopa Swami / Bhupendra Singh
  • Aaditi Pohankar as Parminder aka Pammi
  • Tushar Pandey as Satti aka Satwinder Lochan
  • Darshan Kumar as SI Ujagar Singh
  • Anupriya Goenka as Dr. Natasha
  • Tridha Choudhury as Babita
  • Vikram Kochhar as Sadhu Sharma
  • Anil Rastogi as CM Sundar Lal

As far as episodes in the Chapter 3 will air, it is pure speculation. Possibly 9, keeping up with the past seasons.

Ashram Chapter 3 Plot

Following the heels of Ashram 1, we see how Baba Nirala (Bobby Deol) becomes ruthless in his attempt to gain power. He relies on the corrupt politicians to cover his hide, all the while preying on innocent women who seek deliverance.

Being a conman he is quite talented in hiding his true intentions from the public and wears a mask of pretense before his devotees. Ujagar Singh, a cop, directs himself towards capturing Baba Nirala who doesn’t seem at all like the person he is supposed to be. The skeletons and dead bodies on the Ashram property further act as a catalyst that adds to the story.

The question remains whether the cop will unearth the Baba’s crimes or not. The lapse of faith of some devotees in him adds to the unraveling of the mystery, with several others seeking revenge.

Fans are expecting Season 3 to be the climax with Baba getting exposed. Yet it remains unclear whether Ashram Chapter 3 would be the last or the makers will continue to expose the sinister designs!

Is Ashram a real life story?

The makers claim that the Ashram is pure fiction and any resemblance with real-life characters is coincidental. However, the plot appears to have picked up from the true-life narratives of a few self-proclaimed Godmen in India. For instance Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh cult head of the Dera Sacha Sauda who has been convicted of rape and murder in 2017. Fans are drawing comparisons of Baba Nirala with Gurmeet due to the music concerts and connection with the youth he enjoys. Many believe that the story of the Aashram series is an expose on rise and fall of Baba.

There are many others who were made celebrities by their followers and had a chequered background similar to the one in the Ashram series. The famous ones include rape-accused Nithyananda, Asaram Bapu, Swami Vikasanand, Swami Bhimanand. They all have a history of loot, rape, hoarding, political patronage.
