Sony’s upcoming 2024 Xperia 10 VI is expectedly generating buzz, riveting around the prospect of prominent improvements. One such recent leak is the Sony Xperia 10 VI being the first to support wireless charging, a feature not commonly found in mid-range smartphones. The uncertainty surrounding the model number and chipset adds to the intrigue, as it’s still unclear which specific Snapdragon series or equivalent SoC the Xperia 10 VI will feature. Let’s have a look at all the Sony Xperia 10 VI leaks about release and specs.

Sony is rumored to be launching the Xperia 10 VI in May 2024 and going on orders in June 2024. It is tipped to carry significant improvements over its predecessor. A leak suggests that the model number previously thought to be for the Xperia 1 VI, “XQ-EC72,” actually belongs to the Xperia 10 VI. If this turns out to be true then the Xperia 10 VI would be the first in its series to support wireless charging. It’s rare to find a mid-range phone with wireless charging support and this level of chipset, making the Xperia 10 VI an intriguing prospect in the market.

However, there is uncertainty around this leak. While the receiving side of a shared power supply is labeled as “XQ-EC72,” it’s not confirmed if the supplying side also shares the same model number. Therefore, it’s not certain that “XQ-EC72” is indeed the model that passed FCC certification as the high-end Xperia model.

Another model number, “XQ-EC54,” has been found, likely belonging to a successor of the Xperia 10 V. This discovery increases the likelihood that “XQ-EC72” refers to the Xperia 10 VI.

What are rumored Xperia 10 VI features?

In terms of specifications, the Xperia 10 VI is tipped to offer either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. This indicates that Sony is aiming to provide different configurations to suit the varied needs and preferences of consumers. The chipset for the Xperia 10 VI is still unknown, but it’s expected to be a Snapdragon 6 series or an equivalent.

Sony is set to launch its 2024 Xperia smartphone lineup later this year, which is expected to include the Xperia 1 VI, Xperia 5 VI, and Xperia 10 VI. However, details about these phones are currently scarce. While it was anticipated that at least one of these models would debut at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) this year, Sony has opted for a different announcement schedule. It’ll be interesting to see how Sony positions this new Xperia 2024 model in the market, especially with these rumored enhancements.
