The Pixel 6a, Google’s budget-friendly smartphone, is found to be missing as reported by DroidLife. It has been removed from the Google Store and no longer available for sale. This removal has sparked speculation that Google is preparing to launch the Pixel 8a in the coming months.

Pixel 6a going missing from the Google Store makes sense in light of the expected launch of the Pixel 8a in the coming months. It appears obvious that Google is making space for the new device, which is rumored to come with upgrades such as a higher refresh rate display and more storage options.

The Pixel 8a launch is speculated based on previous release schedules to be in late spring or summer of 2024, probably getting unveiled at Google I/O 2024, commencing on May 14th.

The Pixel 6a was launched in May 2022 but was made available for purchase starting in July 2022. Despite it being in the range of a budget phone, some users found its specifications lacking. However, Google has been enhancing its Pixel A-Series phones with significant upgrades in each generation, somewhat visible in Pixel 7a.

Currently Pixel 6a page is redirecting to the Pixel 7a listing which remains the only A-Series phone offered by Google as of now. However, if you need an A-Series phone desperately, the Pixel 7a is a dependable option. Nonetheless, if possible, it might be wise to wait for the Pixel 8a, as it boasts attractive features such as more storage and a 120Hz display,

The Pixel 8a is rumored to offer upgrades such as a higher refresh rate display (120Hz) and more storage options compared to the Pixel 6a. There are also hints that the Pixel 8a could be unveiled at Google I/O, an annual developer conference scheduled for May 14th, although this is not confirmed. It might be worth holding out for the Pixel 8a, which is expected to offer significant upgrades over its predecessors.
