The extreme popularity of The Witcher Season 1 is something that is well known to everyone. In fact, even before its premiere, the sequel to the Polish-American fantasy drama series was announced. The Witcher Season 2 Release Date

The series producer Lauren S. Hissrich in a Reddit AMA said, “We don’t yet have a target launch date for season 2, past 2021.” Although the exact date of the release for The Witcher- Season 2 remains undisclosed, it is speculated to be aired in the second half of 2021 on Netflix.
With the release of synopsis, a possible release date can land in August 2021. The same is corroborated by a report from Platige Image that all the 8 episodes of The Witcher Season 2 should be ready to air later in July 2021.
Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the executive producer and showrunner is in no mood of rushing the project. She does not want to compromise with the quality in terms of the storyline and screenplay.
Netflix also gave a glimpse of sets and script showing the progress happening. It also teases its fans with a mysterious side of Geralt who appears to play a monster. Have a look!
The Witcher Season 2 trailer
Although Season 1 of the series received some negative connotation from the critics, the new trailer of this Netflix series released on Halloween is an absolute delight for the viewers comprising of certain secrets along with the addition of new monsters and beasts.
Netflix has also released a behind-the-scenes documentary called Making the Witcher, a 32-minute video for the Witcher fanclub.
The Comicbook.com has also released an official synopsis of the Season 2. It reads
“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans, and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
Witcher Season 2 cast

The story of the sequel is expected to be linear in comparison to Witcher Season 1 as stated by the makers of the show. Geralt(Henry Cavill), Yennefer(Anya Chalotra), and Ciri(Freya Allan) will continue to be the focal point of the show.
They will be supported by characters Jaskier(Joey Batey), Cahir(Eamon Farren), Triss (Anna Shaffer), and Yenn’s fellow sorcerers and sorceresses. Three new witches will be joining the existing cast. Lambert, is played by Paul Bullion, and Coën, by Yasen Atour are expected to give reference to Kaer Morhen.
Witcher Season 2 recast
Actor Thue Rasmussen has dropped out of the show due to the non-availability of dates. But the good news is that the character replacement has been found. Basil Eidenbenz will play Eskel in Season 2 of The Witcher. Some scenes have been filmed for the same since the making of the show resumed in August 2020.
