The second-gen ‘SleepBuds II’ has been announced to the world by Bose. It could not have been timed better. With the growing Corona induced apprehensions, Bose Sleepbuds II is a fitting response to the ongoing “corona insomnia.”

The latest ‘Bose Sleepbuds II’ is based on the same principle as its predecessor – finding a comfortable listening position and doze off to sleep. People who are looking towards a traditional Bose TWS will be disappointed.

The Bose noise-masking Sleepbuds will not do traditional functions like active noise-cancelling headphones or in-ear headphones. Nor it can stream music or make phone calls.

The Bose Noise masking Sleepbuds are actually “for those who like to fall asleep while enjoying an ambient album, there are a few other earphones that specialize in sleep.”

The sleep technology promised in the ‘Bose Sleepbuds II‘ masks not only external noises but also plays sleep-inducing, soothing tracks to help fall and stay asleep too. The technology to ward off sounds like buzz sounds made by insects, barking of dogs, traffic noise and snores of partner will be original Bose.

Apart from the USP of ‘Bose Sleepbuds II‘ lulling to sleep, it promises many more improvements and new features on the table. Setup of alarm with adjustable volume can be done via the ‘Bose Sleep’ App. It can be downloaded for free on Android and iOS.

Bose has improved over the content library. 35 tracks are provided for free. It has added 14 noise-masking tracks, 15 ‘naturescapes’ and 10 ‘tranquilities’ to the existing catalogue. All these will help in releasing happy hormones, calming down and relieving tension.

The company has retained the design but made it lighter. The primary noise cancelling function has also been enhanced. The battery life which was a critical issue in earlier Sleepbuds has also been worked upon. The latest NiMH battery, when fully charged can play for 10 hours at a stretch. The brand-new charging case can further increase the battery life by 30. It is useful on trips. Bose Noise Masking Sleepbuds II is also equipped with a storage capacity of up to 10 sound files. The device is IPX4 certified for water and sweat resistance.

Bose Sleepbuds was launched around 2 years ago but had to be discontinued due to battery issues.

Bose Sleepbuds II price will be $249.95 and one can opt to pay in 4 instalments of $63 with Bose Pay. It is available for Pre-orders starting from today on the official site in U.S., Canada, and Europe only. The official availability will begin from 6th October and shipping will begin thereafter. Bose will add more countries soon to its existing list.
