Xiaomi has decided to wrap up the development of MIUI 11 in favour of the upcoming MIUI 12.
Xiaomi takes the development of its beta ROM pretty seriously as the company listens to the customers who enrol for the beta testing program and makes the necessary changes before rolling out the final version. These betas also provide us with valuable insight into the features that will be a part of the new MIUI version.
Every year, Xiaomi works on two software projects, the beta versions of the current MIUI version and the development of the next MIUI version. Now, the company has decided to put all its resources into the development of MIUI 12 and, thus, it will no longer produce beta versions of MIUI 11.
The Chinese MIUI community received a post from the admin telling that from next week, Xiaomi will stop working on the beta version of MIUI 11. The admin told that MIUI 11 version 20.3.23 will be the last beta update. There was no hint at the development of MIUI 12, but experts believe that Xiaomi is halting its MIUI 11 beta project in favour of MIUI 12.
MIUI 11 was introduced in September 2019, and it was available all over the world in October. Xiaomi has previously stopped working on the MIUI 11 beta updates to give more time to the stable builds of the ROM.
Right now, we don’t have any official news regarding the release date or the features of MIUI 12, but the official MI account posted the official logo for MIUI 12 on Weibo.
Recently, we also got to see a leaked roadmap of the MIUI 12 development, but it should be taken with a grain of salt unless we get news from an official source.
