One of the most obvious things is that the S20 is a photographer’s dream and there’s no arguing with that. Photographers will be dropping their digital cameras to snatch up Samsung’s newest release as a replacement.
With the ever-growing technology being built into each major smartphone, there’s not much of a surprise that Samsung have massively upped their game when it comes to the camera on the S20. There are so many features packed into this one phone and to be completely honest, offer it at a fairly cheap price.
How good is each lens?
On the rear camera, we’ve been given a 12MP ultra-wide lens, a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 64MP telephoto lens. To photographers, you’ll know this means that Samsung are not playing around here. You’ll also find an LED flash on the back with the lenses.
The 64MP telephoto lens is where you want to dig into to find all the good bits. You’ll be able to zoom in, and again, and again, without losing the slightest bit of resolution. Every inch of the photo has super clear clarity and truly shows every detail. A great feature that proves the S20 is a photographer’s dream is the 3x Hybrid Optic Zoom built into this lens. This partnered with Super Resolution Zoom and AI let you get closer to your subject than ever before. You won’t need to worry about fighting your way through the crowd to get right to the front now.
It’s now even easier for you to snap shots in the dark with a new and improved Night Mode. The rear camera has been built with an even bigger sensor so that you get some really colourful and defined photos in low-light situations. If your photo doesn’t look right, you can switch to Night Mode for an even better outcome. The camera will take multiple photos with a single click of the shutter than merge these to create something even better than expected. The best bits from the different photos will be taken and added to each other so that you don’t have an inch of blur nor a dull moment in your photo.
Selfie Camera Magic
On the front display of the Samsung Galaxy S20, there’s a tiny punch-hole camera hidden right at the top of the screen. This is the 10MP front camera that will take your selfie game flying. This single lens will give you some seriously crisp photos with really vibrant colours. This is a very similar camera as found on the Note 10 so you know it’s got a hard punch. This lens allows PDAF and dual video calling with auto-HDR. High resolution is something Samsung have taken very seriously in the entire S20 range and that’s very clear.
