Obsidian Entertainment’s “The Outer Worlds” is marking its entry into Nintendo Switch, expected to be released in March 2020. The game originally was released on 25 October 2019 and is currently available on Microsoft, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
It is a single-player sci-fi RPG (Role Playing Game) based on the exploration of the space colony. Lost in transit while on a colonist ship, you find yourself amid the deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the Halcyon Colony. As you explore the furthest reaches of space you encounter a host of factions vying for the power.

Further story of the game gets plotted based on the choices you make. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.
According to the latest reports and social media announcements, The Outer Worlds is being extended to one of the most successful gaming companies Nintendo Switch, but it won’t be coming in handy Cartridge. Therefore, the users will either be getting the download code or have to download digitally, instead of getting the portable memory card.

For those who are unaware, a Cartridge is a removable memory card designed to be connected to the user’s personal computer, or a video console.
What is Nintendo Switch? The Nintendo Switch is a video game console developed by Nintendo and was released worldwide on March 3, 2017. It is a hybrid console that can be used as a console and portable device.

As every coin has its two sides, the game coming without Cartridge has its own merits and demerits.

Let’s focus on the demerits first. Cartridges being portable helps you to distribute your favorite video games to your friends, whereas the Downloads are locked for your personal use. The second issue which is Storage Space. With cartridges, you’re able to save some of the storage space for your other downloads. Third, downloads are more costly then cartridges.
Now, let’s look at some of the merits of downloads over cartridges. The most obvious merit is convenience. Once downloaded, you don’t have to worry about the game as with the case with Cartridges where you need to take care of the SD card. Also, nowadays we have cloud storage so we need not worry about losing saved games. Cloud saves for backing up you save files. Also, you can pre-order the digital download of the game from Nintendo, it gets pre-loaded onto your device at the time of your order.

As we can see both of the solutions have their advantages and disadvantages. The game will be released soon on the Switch, so do let us know which version of the game is better. Also, stay tuned for more such updates.
