As expected, the Xiaomi devices, which were included in the second phase of the MIUI 11 Global Stable ROM rollout program, have started receiving the much-anticipated update. Devices such as Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi 6 Pro, and Redmi Y2 have already started receiving the MIUI 11 update a few days back. It’s now the turn of another couple of devices – Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A.
Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A users have recently posted screenshots of the MIUI 11 update received by them. The OTA update for Redmi 6 has version number MIUI 22.214.171.124.PCGMIXM and it weighs 508MB while the OTA update for Redmi 6A has version number MIUI 126.96.36.199.PCBMIXM and it weighs 517MB.
It is to be noted that the MIUI 11 updates received by Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A users are based on Android 9 Pie and not Android 10. The updates have also brought the October 2019 Android security patch (disappointingly, not November) to the devices. Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A users who haven’t received the update yet can check About Phone > System Update for any notification of the update.
However, as we know, the mass users will not receive the OTA package yet as the rollout program is meant for the beta testers of MIUI 11 as of now. That means it is targeted at all the users who were enrolled in the second round of MIUI 11 Global Stable Beta Testing program announced after the first phase of the MIUI 11 rollout program ended on October 31. As far as the public rollout is concerned, it is expected to begin in 2 or 3 weeks.
The remaining devices that are expected to get the stable version of MIUI 11 update till the end of the second phase on November 12 include –
- Mi Mix 2
- Mi Max 2
- Redmi Note 5
- Redmi 5
- Redmi 5A
- Redmi Note 4
- Redmi Y1
- Redmi Y1 Lite
