Red Dead Redemption 2 has received 2nd update in less than 2 days of its launch. It has run into rough weather with a host of crash and performance issues reported by gamers using a range of hardware combinations. RDR devs are working actively to resolve the ongoing complaints since RDR 2 PC got released on November 5.
A couple of hours back, RDR devs have released 1.14 version patch notes for Red Dead Redemption 2. A couple of the critical “ongoing issues” have been resolved in this latest update and it will be interesting to watch out what gamers have to say.
Though not confirmed by RDR devs, the update weighs around 2.69GB. The RDR2 Title Update 1.14 Notes (PS4 / Xbox One / PC) carries fix to the Red Dead Redemption 2 crash for players who had anti-virus software installed. The notes also point to fixing “Various stability fixes” without giving any further details. To apply these updates, players need to restart the Rockstar Games Launcher and RDR2.
To say the least, patch notes are very brief. Rockstar devs have not given any updates on the status of issues related to audio and FPS, infinite load screen, and a range of technical glitches on all kinds of hardware reported by the gamers. There is no confirmation on ETA or on when the fixes may be delivered for these issues.
In addition to solutions to bugs, the patch notes also talks about new content added in the latest update. This includes majorly Etta Doyle, a new Legendary Bounty, Weekly Collectible List – Fortune Teller’s Collection and addition of four new emotes to the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalogue.
Rockstar Games Launcher has also received an update. With this, the issue of an unexpected crash when the launcher booted has been fixed.

Since the release of the second update couple of hours back, players have not reported any crash or have not been able to replicate the earlier issues.
Workarounds to the crash issues have been doing rounds on the internet with Kotaku also reporting on similar lines. Some players have found the fix by turning off some of the cores on CPU. Few have got lucky by installing the latest graphics drivers for card to fix the crash issue and then run the RDR2.exe file as an administrator in the Rockstar Launcher. Some tinkled and found success by disabling anti-virus software. On its support page, Rockstar has annexed crash troubleshooting tips along with Q&A section.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Later in November, a Stadia version will be released. RDR 2 PC is available through Rockstar’s own launcher and the Epic Games Store. December will see Western coming to Steam.
