Things turned out to be embarrassing for Realme as it had to roll back the ColorOS update for its premium smartphone offering Realme X after receiving reports of critical bugs. The massive 2.79-GB update with version number RMX1901EX_11_A.09 was rolled out on October 30 to limited devices for testing. Due to the reports of the buggy update, the company has postponed the release of the update for other devices for now.
The primary intention for the ColorOS 6 update for Realme X was to add the popular Dark Mode feature, along with October Android Security Patch and others. The Dark Mode is an inherent feature of the recently released Android 10. It seems that the Shenzhen-based company wanted to reward users with the feature before the rollout of the Android 10 update to the device but it has disappointingly failed.
Several Realme X users took over twitter and other platforms to show their grudge about the buggy update. They were mostly complaining about letters becoming least visible in WhatsApp and elsewhere after the update.
In September, Realme revealed the Android 10 update schedule for its devices. As per the schedule, Realme X is supposed to get the latest Android update in the first quarter of 2020.
Realme X was launched in India in July this year. It runs on Snapdragon 710 chipset and features notch-free design, pop-up selfie camera, and in-display fingerprint sensor.
In December, Realme expects to launch two flagship devices in India – Realme XT 730G and Realme X2 Pro. Among them, Realme X2 Pro is considered one of the cheapest Snapdragon 855+ chipset-based phones in the market and is expected to give a tough competition to Redmi K20 Pro and OnePlus 7T.
