PUBG Mobile will be getting an exciting new update in the coming weeks. The main attraction of the 0.17.0 update will be the new Erangel 2.0 map. Apart from the map there will be new weapons and vehicle upgrades.
The new update, PUBG mobile Update 0.17.0, will be available for download somewhere around 17th February. The update will be 300MB approx in size. It is expected to improve lots of things within the game, mainly the gameplay aspects.
At the moment, PUBG mobile has over 200 million subscribers with 30 million active players all over the world. The game is hugely popular in India, with over 50 million downloads.
The update was already present in the Chinese beta version of the game in January shedding light on the much-anticipated Erangel 2.0. It revealed some specific details regarding the changes that would be present in the final version of the game.
The biggest update, as mentioned, would be the Erangel 2.0 map which constitutes 3 islands. These islands are split by streams and rivers originating from Georgopol but connected by new bridges. The map had been there on PC and game consoles for a while and now it was the turn of Mobile version. The 0.17.0 update will also give the Tencent Games an opportunity to fix the pending defects and enhance gameplay as well.
Another important feature of the upgrade would be the ability to throw items at your teammates. It will feature melee weapons, ammo, health kits, and drinks and will help in carrying more items at a given time. It is speculated that there will be a secret base similar to the PUBG PC version on the map.
There are some rumors which suggest that the update would also bring in another class in EvoGround, which will be a separate mode in the category.
The game might also receive an “extreme cold” mode that would check the survival skills of the players. The update is rumored to bring a Maserati skin for Dacia along with a new 12-gauge shotgun DBS to the game. Karakin map is also visible in the teasers.
Tencent devs have kept a steady pace of updates to counter the competition posed by Call of Duty: Mobile. The popularity and loyal fanbase show that they have been successful so far.
