Poco X2 launch date confirmed with a 120Hz display

After a wait of more than 16 months, POCO India has officially announced the next member of Poco family. It is POCO X2 with Poco ready to “redefine the value of X.” After days of hype, speculations, and rumors, the company finally announced the name and the date of launch.

Announcing it officially on the twitter handle, the latest model will be called Poco X2 and will be available on partner retail stores from February 4. The hashtag #SmoothAF needs to be taken note of as Poco had invited suggestions for the same.

Poco launched the mobile-only website after the Poco X2’s #SmoothAF. The visuals give a hint about the features that can be expected in Poco X2. The images show six camera modules, IMX 686 sensor, dual punch hole, extreme refresh rate, extreme gaming, Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, liquid cooling, USB Type-C, a 3.5 mm audio/headphone jack and fast charging technology.

SmoothAF is designed for gamers this time. X2 promises a high refresh rate of 120Hz meeting the demand in a new device. A high refresh rate will be an added advantage for a smooth gaming experience. Powered with liquid cooling technology in Poco X2, it will help to maintain temperatures while playing heavy games.

Images also suggest Poco X2 will be fitted with fast charging technology. The chipset details have not been revealed but it should be powered by at least Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G. Though there are rumors that X2 is likely to be a refurbished version of Redmi K30.

In case you have missed it out, the #SmoothAF website is actually monitoring the device’s refresh rate. That is cool stuff from Poco. You can check it out yourself!

Poco X2 will be sold via Flipkart, a channel partner of Poco India. It has also put up an advertisement for the launch. Bookmark for more updates in the coming days!

C Manmohan, GM Poco India, had also confirmed that Poco, now an independent entity, is working on more models. It also has plans for Poco F2, the successor of F1, to be launched in the first quarter of 2020.
