All speculations have been laid to rest with the launch news of PlayStation 5. Sony has revealed substantial details of its next-gen console and given an official release window of Christmas of 2020. The PlayStation 5 (PS5) guarantees a slew of exciting new as well as refurbished games. All you up there would be impatient to get an insight into the titles, also keeping an eye on rumours too.
We will be talking about the PS5 games that you can look forward to adding to your games’ lineup. Sony has confirmed few games of PlayStation 5 but you can expect a lot of developer’s forthcoming exclusive titles to be part of both the consoles PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Also, there are few rumoured ones to add to Sony’s next-gen system’s titles lineup.
You can presume big-budget launch titles complementing God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn. Another one which is suspected to join the console’s lineup of launch game is from the games-maker Hideo Kojima “Death Stranding.” The title owners can now take full advantage of next-gen PlayStation 5’s superior graphics, enhanced vibration technology and faster boot-up.
Sony had confirmed at the time of PlayStation 5 launch that its architecture has been designed to allow backward compatibility. In other words, players on PlayStation 5 will be allowed to play the vast library of PS4 games.
Bringing to you some of the exclusive PS5 games, titles almost sanctioned by Sony and few rumoured names that you would love to add to your collection. Will keep on updating the Games Of PlayStation 5 as and when information trickles in. So, stay tuned!
New Bluepoint Studios
Bluepoint is working on something ‘Big’ for the PS5. Bluepoint Games President Marco Thrush in an interview with Wired had disclosed that “We’re working on a big one right now. I’ll let you figure out the rest.” In early 2019, Bluepoint Studios had come forward and affirmed that it was re-imagining a classic game, a title for Sony’s next-generation console. This led to rumours around the possibility of “re-envisioning” of Demon’s Souls (an IP owned by Sony).
Bluepoint is famous for improvising the running titles and overhauling cult-classics. I’m wondering if they’re doing anything substantial for the mainstream PS5? The Studios is known for some of the favourite classic games, like Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Shadow of the Colossus remaster.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 5
Blockbuster titles like Call of Duty, GTA, and The Elder Scrolls are expected to find their way to the PlayStation 5’s first year. The Cold War shooter is locked and reported to be coming in the fall of 2020. If launched, it will coincide with the release of the PS5 and the Xbox Two. The time of launch is perfect as it will be available during the PS5 launch, as well as during the Winter holiday season on PS4, too.
The next Black Ops has been confirmed by Kotaku to “likely be a cross-gen game”, meant for both PS5 and PS4. PlayStation 5’s robust configuration will assist in achieving the desired resolution and frame rates with a capacity of accelerated loading times.
Slated for April 2020 release, Cyberpunk 2020 is set in a futuristic, dystopian California. CD Projekt Red has reinforced that it is being developed for next-generation consoles and in all likelihood, it’ll be a cross-generation title. It will be perfect for both PS 4 and PS 5.
“Next gen hasn’t been announced yet, so we can only speculate,” CD Projekt Red president Adam Kiciński while talking to VG247 said last year. “Technology-wise, Cyberpunk is very advanced. Our technology is ready to interface with future generations. The game is developed in such a way that it can use very powerful future equipment.”
Horizon Zero Dawn 2
HZD has been the most polished and beautiful open world console game of this generation since its launch in 2017. It has been set in a futuristic world in which humans fight out with giant robots for survival. A PlayStation exclusive title, it had massive success with post-apocalyptic RPG title Horizon Zero Dawn. Its popularity can be gauged by recording more than 10 million subscriptions on PS4. Taking into account its universal appeal, a sequel to Guerrilla Games is high on expectations.
Though Horizon Zero Dawn 2 has not been officially confirmed by either Sony nor Guerrilla Games but one of the titles’ voice-over artiste almost confirmed about the forthcoming launch of sequel. With no near announcement made by Guerrilla, it is likely that the series will land up for PS5.
PS5’s console powered with AMD Navi GPU, 8-core Zen 2 CPU and super-fast SSD will give Guerrilla Games the much-needed control as well as flexibility.
God of War 2
With an extremely successful reboot launched exclusively on PlayStation 4, expectations are high for the God of War sequel making its way to PS5. It is rumoured for a 2020 release, exclusive to PlayStation. God of War was declared the winner of Game of the Year 2018 award.
Ghost of Tsushima
There are not many updates on the progress of SuckerPunch’s historical open-world adventure except for the gorgeous trailer shown at E3 2018. SuckerPunch initially decided to launch for PS4 but with no updates on the game, it has fuelled rumours that the game is being prepared for a dual PS4 and PS5 release.
Japanese hack-and-slash gameplay takes players back to Feudal Japan. We are sure that the Samurai epic with feudal Japan setting and sword plays, it will look stunning on PlayStation 5. As of now, we are only aware that development is in progress. We have little information about when Ghost of Tsushima will release – or what consoles we will see it on.
Grand Theft Auto 6
Highly anticipated next version of Grand Theft Auto game is likely to see the day early 2020, according to the latest leaks. GTA 6 has not been announced by Rockstar Games but an “insider” at the Games has claimed that GTA 6 will be out in 2020, aptly timed PS5 exclusive and will be set in Vice City. Tipped by Rockstar Games leaker Tezfunz2, Games is gearing itself for the final update ever for Grand Theft Auto Online. Some activity was observed on the Steam database which normally happens before any update. It has given steam to the idea of an imminent launch of GTA VI.
The last version to hit the gaming consoles was GTA 5 around 6 years back. It is pretty natural for the gaming industry to speculate for a sequel to the open-world crime sandbox. Last year Rockstar Games released the incredible Red Dead Redemption 2.
Hideo Kojima and Sony have not revealed any news on Death Stranding title coming to PS5. But a PS5 and PS4 two-platform release seems very likely. The latest title from Hideo Kojima is due out in November 2019 for PS4. In an exclusive interview with Wired, Sony’s Mark Cerny had dropped a hint that the players are likely to see the title on PS5 too. Though he didn’t confirm but his reply did lead to speculations that Death Stranding will be coming with a cross-generation release. The almost stunningly realistic characters of the game will be given life by PS5’s ability to support 8K HDR graphics.
Assassin’s Creed: Kingdom
Established to be centred around Vikings, the next Assassin’s Creed is a strong contender to set fire on PS5. According to gaming site Kotaku, its launch is expected around PS 5’s release.
Apart from these massive series, Sony has some unquestionably killer exclusives such as Spider-Man 2, Final Fantasy 7 Remake and few more popular titles like Starfield, The Elder Scrolls VI, Sniper Elite 5, Dying Light 2, The Lord of The Rings: Gollum. You can expect them to be packaged in the PS5’s first year.
