We have been seeing rumors regarding the new gaming console from Sony for a while. There have been numerous leaks regarding the specification and the design of the console. Everyone knew that the console would hit the stores in the holiday season of 2020.

However, recently we started to get some official news related to the upcoming Sony console. Unlike the Xbox Series X from Microsoft, Sony has kept most of the details regarding the new console hidden from everyone. In 2020, they finalized that the new console would be called PlayStation 5 and revealed its logo.

The official reveal of the console is yet to be announced. This year, once again, Sony won’t participate in the E3 event. This news has confirmed one thing that Sony will host a separate event to announce the PlayStation 5. The date for this event hasn’t been announced yet. But on looking at the schedule of E3 and the launch of the gaming console around November 2020, we can assume that the console will be revealed during the third quarter of 2020.

The specs regarding the console are unclear, whether it will come with SSDs or not, is it going to be completely backward compatible with PS4 or not, and a lot of other things are just speculations.

Amidst all these rumors and leaks, Sony has presented us with a couple of teasers for the PlayStation 5. One such teaser was a cryptic message tweeted by Sony a few days back. Now, another teaser is the PlayStation 5 landing page on the Sony website.

The page, if you haven’t seen it yet, has no fresh news. It shows the PlayStation 5 logo with “Launches Holiday 2020” written underneath it.

Below the main heading, there is a small paragraph which reads
“We’ve begun to share some of the incredible features you can expect from PlayStation 5, but we’re not quite ready to fully unveil the next generation of PlayStation. Sign up below to be among the first to receive updates as we announce them, including news on the PS5™ release date, PS5 price, and upcoming roster of PS5 launch games.”

And finally, at the bottom, you will find a news sign-up form. You can enter your details to get the latest news related to the PlayStation 5 in your mail.

Check out the page, if you haven’t and do let us know what you are expecting from the next generation of gaming consoles.
