OnePlus removed the headphone jack from its devices with OnePlus 6T. But they were kind enough to pack a Type-C to 3.5mm adapter inside the box so users can still plug in their headphones. But with OnePlus 7 series, OnePlus stopped giving away the adapter also. To make the matter even worse, the official OnePlus Type-C to 3.5mm adapter is out of stock on the official website even if you want to pay for it.
There is no confirmation regarding how long OnePlus will take to restock the adapter. OnePlus is really pushing users to buy their Bullets Wireless 2 earphones. You can, however, still purchase third-party adapters that work just as fine and costs less. We personally tested one listed on Amazon for around ₹390 from a company called Sceva. It is also currently the ‘Best Seller’ Type-C to 3.5mm headphone jack converter on Amazon.
The Type-C to 3.5mm adapter has received an almost 5-star rating on Amazon. According to the manufacturer, it works perfectly with OnePlus, Huawei and Xiaomi devices. It should also ideally work with other devices that have a Type-C port. I was able to use headphone’s mic for making calls with this adapter on my OnePlus 7 along with the play pause button on the headphone. You can buy the adapter from Amazon and start listening to music on your wired earphones.
If you think that it is expensive, there is another alternative also that works just as fine. Rednix Type-C to 3.5mm headphone jack converter also works pretty good with OnePlus devices as we have personally tested. It is available for around ₹200 on amazon. But the unit that we received works from only one side. Plugging it from the other side doesn’t seem to work for some reason. But rest everything was fine. The mic on earphone worked properly for calls along with buttons on the earphone.
