Oxygen OS Open Beta for OnePlus 7 series brings Game Space, Clock Improvements, & Android July Security Patch

OxygenOS Open Beta 16 is distributed for the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro

The all-new beta update version, Oxygen OS Open Beta 6 has been rolled out globally for OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro. Whereas Oxygen OS Open Beta 16 has been distributed for OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro owners. The beta rollout also brings a July security patch and few noticeable enhancements. But, the current update is focused more on fixing bugs than adding new features. The changelog for 7/7T/7Pro/7T Pro is identical.

Some of the changes, as mentioned by the OnePlus Community, include optimization of adaptive brightness settings and the latest security patch. You also get an improved UI for the stopwatch and a fix to the launcher app.`

The new AI integration feature for the OnePlus 7 series of devices is one of the key addition. OnePlus has added AI integration to the messaging app making the app a lot smarter. The feature brings with it OTPs, bill amounts, notifications from Amazon, etc. in bold. OnePlus has also improved the UI of the app.

The firmware Oxygen OS Open Beta has given a new look to ‘Moments’ in the games section. With ‘Moments’ it will become handy to store gaming snapshots and screen recordings.

The Stopwatch app has been upgraded with some new features namely “Lap time” and “Split time” title giving it more comapct look.

Apart from the new messaging app features, most of the updates are quality of life updates. Check out the review video by PhonesWiki Team.

One of the major gripes of OnePlus users with the latest update is that it doesn’t add the one-handed mode to the OS. As you can see, these phones are quite big, and a one-handed mode would be a welcome feature. Anyway, there’s always the next time.
