Over the years, smartphones have come a long way in terms of design and utility. While hardware is just another aspect of a smartphone, the design is one of the most important things in the tech industry, with Apple being the undisputed leader when it comes to design language over the past decade.
This year, the company has done something really unconventional. OnePlus has officially unveiled the design of their upcoming smartphone. Revealing the design of a smartphone before launch is something no company in the smartphone industry has ever done. OnePlus posted images of OnePlus 7T on the community forums along with many details about the design of the device.

It is a huge step forward in the right direction since this gives users an abstract idea of why phone manufacturers do what they do.
The upcoming device will be coming with a new back finish. OnePlus calls this “a new smooth matte surface with a brilliant metallic radiance.” The camera cutout is also an important aspect of the design language. Obviously, when you pick up a phone, the first thing you notice is how the camera is placed on the phone.
With OnePlus also opting for the three-camera setup, they have completely redesigned from scratch how the camera housing will be. In order to strike the delicate balance between the three cameras, the company has opted to go with a circular camera cutout confirming a previous leak we covered a few weeks ago regarding the camera design.
The OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T will be launching officially on September 26 so stay tuned for further updates!
