OnePlus Buds is in news again. It has been only 2 months that OnePlus had launched the OnePlus Buds wireless headphones and marketed at 89 euros. It had impressed with its price, a neat finish, great Bluetooth range, pure sound, fast charging support, true wireless, and fantastic battery life. Now, the brand is reportedly in works on another cheaper version of Buds- the OnePlus Buds Z.
OnePlus Buds Z will be dirt cheap
Tipped by Max J, editor of the AllAboutSamsung site, OnePlus will be marketing its new truly wireless earphones under “Budz”. While the price was not disclosed, it was confirmed that Buds Z will be the successor to Buds but will be a cheaper variant.
You can safely assume that the design of Buds Z will be similar to Buds. However, the technical specifications will be toned down. It can be safely assumed that it will be without the environmental noise cancelation feature.
The reduced configuration is likely to miss out features of 13.4mm dynamic drivers for deeper bass. In other words, the audio quality, richer bass, or the 3D stereo will be forsaken. In addition, unlike OnePlus Buds, Buds Z may not operate independently.
Earlier XDA developers had also spotted the reference in one of the code files of OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 1 update released for the OnePlus 8 series.
OnPlus Buds Z should arrive with OnePlus 8T scheduled for launch on 14th October. The other products from OnePlus on the launchpad are Oneplus Smartwatch and Oneplus Powerbank. It is assumed that it will follow the launch pattern of Buds which were announced at the same time as the OnePlus North. Though there is no official confirmation on the Buds Z launch date and its price.
As far as rumors around pricing are concerned, OnePlus Buds Z price may end up somewhere between $40 or $50 (Rs 3,500 approximately). The logic behind it lies in the price of the existing OnePlus Buds which cost $79 only.
Buds Z will be the fifth entry in the catalog of OnePlus’ Bluetooth audio accessory lineup. The earlier ones include the Bullets Wireless, Bullets Wireless 2, OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z, and the Buds.
