OnePlus is working towards the imminent launch of the next-gen OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and the mid-range OnePlus 8 Lite smartphones. It is rumored that the flagship devices will be available in late March or April. OnePlus 8 just appeared on Geekbench and it augmented the approaching announcement. Meanwhile, in the process, you can sneak peek into some key specs.
The OnePlus 8 sports model number OnePlus “Galilei IN2025” in the screengrab shared by MySmartPrice. According to the Geekbench, a benchmark database, the device has scored 4,276 in the single-core test and 12,541 in the multi-core test.
Booting up on Android 10, it will have 8GB RAM topped up by Oxygen OS. There are remote guesses that OnePlus might even opt for 16GB RAM tier. The listing also highlights the 1.80Ghz octa-core, Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor.
The device was tested with the norm Geekbench 4 and not Geekbench 5. The single-core score result has not been a surprise as it has been achieved with even Exynos chips. But crossing the figure of 12,000+ for multi-core has set new benchmarks for future Android devices.
Geekbench doesn’t unveil the rest of the specs of the OnePlus 8. But the device is rumored to arrive with a triple rear camera setup of 48-megapixel + 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel. On the display front it should have a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Few leaked out renders also show that there no punch-hole selfie camera and the entire surface is covered by the screen.
It is confirmed that OnePlus 8 will come in a new Green color variant in addition to Blue and Black colors that the brand is extending on its current lineup.
With the specs and quality, OnePlus is giving stiff competition to the likes of Samsung. Share with us your thoughts on the upcoming OnePlus 8 series of smartphones.
