Ever since OnePlus launched the 7T smartphone, rumors regarding the specifications and launch date of OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro started making rounds. It is expected that the new OnePlus will come loaded with new upgrades that haven’t been a part of the previous launches. Despite all the speculations regarding the OnePlus 8 series, nothing has been confirmed from the side of the Chinese technology giant. In December, it was expected that the phones would hit the launch-pad anytime during March 2020.
However, a regular tipster has given a significant hint by tweeting the probable dates for OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. According to him, the smartphones will reach the customers by April this year. Until last year, OnePlus used to launch new phones during the months of June and November, but most likely, they are going to change that trend. The same tipster gave a hint that the launch may extend towards the first week of April. Notably, the source of information is a reliable one, and his previous predictions have been proven right. OnePlus is shifting its launch date to avoid the seasonal market clashes which it faces with the other tech giants like Apple and Samsung. The new OnePlus series will most probably contend with the Galaxy S20 series by Samsung.
The source also claimed that the new OnePlus would come in a fresh green colour variant, which is again new from OnePlus. The smartphone market may look all green because Apple also has its iPhone 11 Pro in the same shade! A frosted glass finish variant is also expected for the new OnePlus 8.
Talking about the other technical specifications, the smartphone will reportedly feature a Snapdragon 865 processor and will also support 5G networks, a whole new quad-cam setup for its primary camera with a 10x hybrid zoom, and wireless charging. Though some of these features may exclusively be available for the Pro variant, but they still are a massive deal from OnePlus. Though it’s not fully confirmed, there is a hint of OnePlus 8 Lite also being on the tables!
Finally, it will be interesting to see how all the smartphone giants compete against each other in the market. Looking at the previous trends of the Apple-OnePlus conflicts, both the companies will leave no stone unturned to beat each other at the market.
