While the regular OnePlus 7 Pro receives regular operating system and security updates, the company has been sceptical to upgrade the 5G version of the phone. Last we checked, the phone received a software update in the last week of May.
Not only this, people who own the 5G version of the phone also encountered some software bugs. Some major annoying include losing connectivity frequently and camera pop up issues. But all hope is not lost here. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has been relentlessly pushing out fixes as well as some new features such as Assistive lighting when using Face Unlock.
If you take into consideration the latest update to the 5G model in Europe, it is leading the OnePlus 7 and the OnePlus 7 Pro when it comes to security patches. The October update is said to bring this months’ security patch by Google, general bug fixes and some stability enhancements and updated GMS apps.
Owners of the 5G version of OnePlus 7 Pro and residing somewhere in Europe, can just check for System Updates and download the OTA. If you have already installed the update, you will notice that the OxygenOS version number is now bumped to 9.5.11.
This brings it on par with the regular OnePlus7 Pro running Android Pie. It is interesting to note that the company hasn’t come up with Android 10 for the 5G mode. In case you were wondering when you could update your phone to the latest version of Android, you will have to wait a while before the company decides to make it available.
