My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission Spoilers

*Article contains spoilers ahead*

With the debut of My Hero Academia World Heroes Mission releasing today, we finally get to see the new characters of the franchise that are being shown in the third film! The film is set during Midoriya, Bakugo and Shoto’s internship at the Endeavor agency. Our beloved three musketeers will lead on an international mission to test their limits. The majority of the story will take place in Oseon where we meet our first new character Rody soul, along with his pet Pino. e is a civilian who will contribute to fighting the villains.

In the My Hero Academia World Heros Mission trailer, we saw a young man running from the police with a metal case and in the middle of the escape, Deku intervenes to save Rody. However, we don’t know if the contents of the suitcase are vital or not.

But what we do know is that Rody will become one of the main characters of the movie. Apart from him we also get introduced to Clair Voyance who is a member of the World Heroes Association. It is she who will collaborate with the Endeavor team. She will use her powers or her quirk to let her see events in the future.

Two other new characters we meet are Salaam and Big Red Dot. They hail from other cities! Salaam is an Egyptian hero whose quirk is to thin his body like a papyrus while Big Red Dot is from Singapore and can shoot a water jet from his mouth!

On the side of the villains, we have a new organization that is led by Flect Turn whose skin is blue and follows the creed of the Quirk Doomsday. There is also Belos who is a young archer whose attack form is long-ranged.

There is also Sir Pentas whose characteristics match those of a snake, Shidero who can create metal spheres and Leviathan, a giant who looks similar to Nomu. Another relatively unknown character is Allen Kay who appears to be on the sides of our Pro Heroes or Villians.

It appears that most of the students/pro heroes do not have much screen time for the movie. They just appear, fight goons, say “I won’t give up”. The movie seems to mostly focus on Deku and Rody. Bakugou and Shoto are considered secondary main characters for the movie. Both of them get a 1v1 fight. The animation from the studio has made it look crisp, vivid and violent!

Here are some pointers to frequently asked questions!

Is the movie 80% Deku and Roddy and 20% Shoto and Bakugo only?

Yes. It’s foreshadowed in the opening scene even, where Bakugou and Todoroki team up (actually pretty good team-up too) while Midoriya is off doing something else. Deku and Roddy are the protagonists, Shoto and Bakugo are deuteragonists. They get one very good fight scene each towards the end of the movie.

Is Rody interested enough to carry the movie without Bakugo and Shoto being with Deku?

Rody, as far as movie characters go, is pretty fleshed out overall. He has been voted by fans to be the popular and interesting one. You get an idea of why his personality, beliefs, and lifestyle is the way it is. The driving motif for Rody to be on the weaker side is not because of Rody himself. It is more because the writers tried to shoehorn in relevancy to the plot in his backstory and that made it weaker.

Are Shoto’s fight scenes well animated?

Both Todoroki and Bakugou get a lot of action for the 20% of the time they make an appearance. They get huge solo fights in a major action sequence. Todoroki is portrayed as the “lead” secondary character in the movie. He has more lines than Bakugou did, and he was a lot of assertive through the whole thing. On the other hand, Bakugou’s solo fight was more impressive in terms of choreography and bloodshed.

Does Shoto do flashfire fist?

Shoto does! And it’s badass! And he pulls off that firewire cutting move that Endeavor did in season 4! The one where Endeavor chopped up a building! Smaller-scale though. Mind you, he’s still learning. His ice moves have been rumoured to be insane where he did a lot of new things with it.

We are not sure when the third movie will arrive in your country but we suggest you stay tuned for the latest news. Also, keep sharing with us what you are expecting from the upcoming My Hero Academia Movie 3!
