We recently covered the launch of the new Mi TVs launched in the Smarter Living event held in Bengaluru. One of the most awaited products everyone has been waiting for is the successor to Mi Band 3. Launched in China earlier in June this year, the Mi Smart Band 4 offers several improvements over the last year’s model.
One of the major upgrades the fitness band will see is the addition of a colour display. Some other much-requested features have also made way into this year’s model. The Mi Smart Band 4 is just a rebrand of the Mi Band 4 which was launched earlier.
Mi Smart Band 4 features
Coming to hardware specs, the new fitness band sports a 0.95-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 120x240p. The company claims the display has a brightness of about 400 nits. Since this is a touch display, the company has also added an anti-fingerprint coating which was widely requested by the community.
Xiaomi claims that the battery will last you about 15-20 days on a full charge and is rated at 135mAh. As expected, you can pair the watch with any Android phone running Android 4.4 or higher and iOS 9 or later.
Equipped with a 3-axis accelerometer, a PPG heart rate sensor for 24×7 heart rate monitoring and a 3-axis gyroscope, the Mi Smart Band 4 offers a ton of health tracking features. You can now track your heart rate at all times using the new sensor. Moreover, you can get health alerts and notifications if you pair it via the Mi Fit app.
Sleep pattern tracking has also been improved. The band can now identify between different workouts such as a treadmill, swimming, cycling and running and various others. If you happen to be a swimmer, the band is water-resistant up to 50m. It can also distinguish between different swimming styles such as when you breaststroke, backstroke or butterfly.
Other features include the ability to use the fitness band as a device finder, alarm, incoming call alerts, check notifications and as a stopwatch. Also, now you can choose between really beautiful watch faces in case you hate the default one.
The Mi Smart Band 4 will be available on Mi.com, Mi Home Stores and on Amazon from September 19 at 12 PM. You can now choose between five colours, but you can also use your existing Mi Band 3 straps with the new model.
Xiaomi has priced the Mi Smart Band 4 at Rs 2,299, which is slightly higher than the launch price of the Mi Band 3. Keeping in mind the new fitness has to offer, this is definitely worth the upgrade!
