When it comes to iPhones, all of us surely have a lot to expect. That’s less to do with the idea of witnessing the mere launch of a new phone and more to do with the setting of a trend for the next generation models.
As per the YouTuber, ZONEofTECH and various other sources, Apple is expected to launch 5 iPhone models in 2020. It has been rumoured that the U.S. tech giant will bring the next version of iPhone SE, the model that Apple fans have been expecting from the last three years since the launch of the first generation in 2016.
As per the mentioned sources, iPhone SE 2 is expected to bear a lot of resemblance with the design of the iPhone 8. Technically, if iPhone SE 2 design is based on iPhone 8, then it would be a six-year-old design when launched because iPhone 8 design has a lot of similarity (such as bezel size and overall shape) with the iPhone 6 that was launched in 2014.
Specs-wise, iPhone SE 2 is expected to bear resemblance with iPhone 11, such as 64-bit A13 ARM-based chip and 3GB RAM, 1GB lower than the latter. The other reason for iPhone SE 2 to bear the specs of iPhone 11 is that the upcoming phone is expected to be compatible with Apple AR (Augmented Reality) Glasses that are rumoured to be launched in early 2020, as per the Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The Apple AR Glasses hypothesis is related to iOS 13 that is shipped with iPhone 11. Kuo and others have analyzed the code in iOS 13 and seen that it bears support for Apple’s augmented reality framework that is codenamed as “Project StarBoard” and Apple AR Glasses, codenamed as “Garta”.
These apart, being a low-priced model, iPhone SE 2 is expected to have an only one-camera module, no face recognition but touch ID, and 64GB and 128GB onboard storage. There is a possibility that the new iPhone SE 2 will be called the iPhone 9 and could be offered at a price of $400 when it will be launched in March next year. However, there is no official confirmation regarding these.
As far as the flagship iPhone model is concerned, Apple is expected to launch four variants of the iPhone 12 in September 2020. They are iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. All of these models are expected to flaunt a full-screen design and under-display fingerprint scanner based on the technology recently unveiled by Qualcomm.
iPhone 12 camera is expected to be more advanced with the ability to take clear photos in fog and misty conditions. The credit goes mainly to the 2019 acquisition of image processing company Spectral Edge by Apple that invented the technology to use infrared rays from the camera to capture crystal clear photos in fogs.
