VoWiFi technology was announced a few years back and has only recently made its way into Indian carriers. Airtel was the first announced VoWiFi calling on its network and it supported all broadband services right from its launch. Jio has also announced VoWiFi across India but its device support is limited to few manufacturers only.
Jio VoWiFi support is limited to 12 smartphone manufacturers including Apple, Google, Vivio, Samsung and Xiaomi etc. Jio VoWifi currently won’t work on devices from OnePlus while Airtel VoWiFi supports OnePlus also.
Although there are few methods mentioned on the internet regarding enabling Jio VoWiFi on OnePlus smartphones, but we will advise you to wait as those methods didn’t work for our OnePlus 7 Pro. These methods include downgrading the OnePlus LogKit app to a lower version and enabling the VoWiFi switch.
In a recent chat with OnePlus support, we asked them when Jio VoWiFi will be coming over to OnePlus. They cleared that the testing to support the VoWiFi option on Jio is already being done by the OnePlus team but they refrained from providing a tentative date as of yet. This can take anywhere from a week to a month even if they are doing this on priority.
We certainly hope that an OTA update will be pushed by the team supported VoWiFi calling on Jio by this month.
