Google launched its game streaming platform Stadia on November 19 with two free games offering – Destiny 2: The Collection and Samurai Shodown. The company recently announced in its Stadia twitter handle that they are adding two more free games in the lineup– Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition and Farming Simulator 19 from December 1st at 9 AM PST/12 PM ET for Stadia Pro users.
Google Stadia Founder edition was launched at a price of $129 and an additional $10 per month charge as Stadia Pro subscription to play the games in 4K resolution with HDR using Chromecast Ultra or Chrome web browser. Since there is a three-month trial for Stadia Pro subscription, every Stadia Founder becomes Stadia Pro subscribers effectively.
Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition was launched way back in January 2014. The game traces the journey of protagonist Lara Croft from an inexperienced young woman to a hardcore survivor. This adventure game is set on an island with lifelike locations.
The other game Farming Simulator 19 was released in November 2018. It is a farming simulator game based on two huge farms in America and Europe. Apart from doing farming activities, the players will be allowed to drive over 300 authentic farming vehicles in the game.
Stadia Pro users who are willing to access the two new games offerings can open the Stadia app, click on Store, and claim the two games under Stadia Pro Games category. It is to be noted that the user needs to be a current member of Stadia Pro to access the free titles. If the subscription expires or the member cancels it, he/she won’t be able to access the free titles but other titles that are bought on the Stadia platform (that ranges from $20 to $60 per premium titles).
Post announcement of the two new gaming titles, there were complaints on the Stadia community forum asking for a refund on the purchase of either or both the titles since the time of Stadia launch. Stadia officials soon responded stating that particular users can claim a refund for the purchase of either or both Tomb Raider ($10) or Farming Simulator 19 ($50) on their platforms in the form of discount for future purchases.
